Slow down for a moment.
Somatic psychotherapy works with sensation:
the body's own language for feeling and memory.
Not to fix you. To help you hear yourself.
In person on Valencia Street, San Francisco, or virtually anywhere in California.
I work with individuals and couples on developmental trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, and the patterns that talking alone can't shift. My approach is unhurried and collaborative: we move between conversation and noticing — what your body is doing as you speak, what it's asking for, what it's protecting.

the work
Your body registers everything: old fear as a tight chest, grief as heaviness, vigilance as a jaw that never unclenches. Somatic therapy works directly with those sensations, because they're where feeling and memory actually live. Over time, the nervous system learns it can soften.
Mostly, it looks like talking, with pauses. When something meaningful surfaces, we slow down and stay with it: where it sits in the body, what happens when it's given attention. I draw on inner child work, trauma-informed mindfulness, emotionally focused somatic inquiry, and polyvagal psychoeducation.
Individuals, couples, young adults, and parents, including pre- and post-natal. Clients often come with developmental trauma, PTSD & CPTSD, anxiety and depression, body image, neurodivergence, perfectionism, or a life transition that's asking for more than coping.
a specialty
Founded by Wynn Tamura over forty-five years ago, TM is a gentle practice of supportive touch, cultivating awareness of muscular patterns and energetic holding, and relating them to early wounding. It's woven into talk therapy, offered only in person.
And it is always, entirely, your choice: explained before anything begins, invited rather than assumed, and adjusted or set aside the moment you prefer.
